WCW Featuring Sophia Randazzo of The Money Manual

It's another Woman CRUSH Wednesday, featuring my favorite women in personal finance. Today, you'll learn more about Sophia Randazzo, the social media maven at The Money Manual. I asked her how she is crushing her money goals.

What is one way you continue to cultivate your mindset around money?

I am constantly reevaluating and reassessing my goals, both short term and long term. For instance, the pandemic proved to me that I absolutely need access to a car. However, living in New York City, a car can be extremely expensive (the garage next to where I live charges $500/month for parking HA). So I started a new sinking fund dedicated towards purchasing, maintaining, and paying for parking. It will take me some time to be able to completely save for this goal (it’s a large one!) but I would have never thought I needed it before this year.

What is one life goal you are working on (not money related)?

I would like to be featured in an art exhibit! I am an artist (on the side) and it’s a dream of mine to have some of my art featured in an exhibit. I am currently in a zoom art crit group that meets biweekly and before the quarantine I was going to many art events a month to network. It will happen just not sure when!

What is one tip you have for being more efficient with time, money or energy?

Do the little things FIRST and tackle the BIG items a little bit every day. It’s one of the best ways I help prevent myself from becoming overwhelmed. If you don’t address the small items (from paying a parking ticket to doing your taxes) they can quickly become BIG items that cost even more money and time. If something small comes up, just do it. Right now. 

What is something you love and are not ashamed to spend money on?

I absolutely love skincare and makeup! One of my favorite parts of the day is my morning and night routine and I absolutely love watching videos and testing out new products. I have a sinking fund dedicated solely to them since it brings me such joy!

What is your favorite way to make money?

If I am able to create at all-- from Instagram posts to watercolor-- AND make money from it, I consider it to be a win!
