I know, I know. I sound like a broken record going on and on about how Bernadette attracts amazing women, but listen y’all. You are about to meet Danielle and she is so freaking fantastic that Bernadette tapped her as the operations expert for her business!

To give you a little of Danielle’s backstory, she is from Charlotte, NC, is married and is the proud momma of a three-year-old son and an 80 lb. black lab. She is the bad ass business owner of Jefferson James Consulting, which offers COO services to small businesses. She hooked up with Bernadette through Lauren Widrick and now Danielle is helping Bernadette grow her business.

“My biggest accomplishment is leaving my corporate job and building a successful business that has allowed me and my family to continue living our same lifestyle while affording me the flexibility to work how I want. Sometimes this means no work Fridays!”

Danielle is all about being on top of her finances, but even a professional COO can use a little steering to help reach their goals. “My biggest accomplishment is leaving my corporate job and building a successful business that has allowed me and my family to continue living our same lifestyle while affording me the flexibility to work how I want. Sometimes this means no work Fridays!”

Creating her own schedule has also helped Danielle put other things in perspective, and given her the confidence to spend her money on quality-of-life necessities. “I do not apologize for spending on things that reduce stress and make me happy. That could be a gym membership, an occasional shopping trip or home services. As long as I have my expenses and savings covered, I feel good spending on things that make me feel good!”

“I want to leave a legacy for my son that teaches him you don’t have to keep making more money if you have what you need and are set for the future.”

Danielle is a classic saver but she has learned how to strike a balance, and has started to think about what she wants her legacy to be. “I want to leave a legacy for my son that teaches him you don’t have to keep making more money if you have what you need and are set for the future. Being in corporate for so long, I was beholden to always wanting a raise or a bigger bonus—but for what? If we’re reaching the goals we set for ourselves, we don’t need more money.” How’s that for Zen?

As with many of her partners, Danielle has nothing but love for Bernadette’s take on money matters and the groups of women she has had the pleasure to be a part of. “I’m constantly inspired by Bernadette’s fun and direct approach to money. We shouldn’t be afraid to talk about it and I’ve learned to normalize it more by being around her.”

In creating her own business, Danielle has made work her hobby. She is doing something she loves and enjoys and it no longer feels like work. However, that doesn’t mean she isn’t finding time to binge on some Bravo TV, like all of it!
