She treated her BFFs to a Bahamas beach vacay!

So, I think I found my new BFF, but she just doesn’t know it yet. #stalker. For reals, y’all I’m about to jump on a plane and go to Durham, NC and give this week’s #WCW, Quinn, a hug. It’s been a long time since I’ve met someone I have so much in common with and I’m just a little excited. 

What makes me love her so much? Well, for starters this girl is all about some bougie travel and wine. Heck, yeah! I could not agree more (she is also into stinky cheese and dogs. YAY!). However, one cannot jump into fancy pants wine and travel without a plan—that’s where Bernadette entered the picture starting with a Skillpop class Quinn attended. From there she became a member of the CRUSH community and went on to ace the FLOW program. In short, once she got started, there was no stopping her. 

“I didn’t realize how much I could accomplish on my own once I had the correct tools in place. Being able to explain my financial situation to someone who is my age, has gone through similar financial struggles and who provides nothing but support and encouragement was the boost I needed to make things happen.”

Quinn’s background in business and economic development also came in handy as she started her journey with Bernadette. “I didn’t realize how much I could accomplish on my own once I had the correct tools in place. Being able to explain my financial situation to someone who is my age, has gone through similar financial struggles and who provides nothing but support and encouragement was the boost I needed to make things happen.” Boy, did she make things happen!

She started by paying off the 16K balance of her car in 2020 in just three months. “I had a goal to pay it off by the end of the first quarter of 2021, but realized I could do it sooner than I had planned. Owning my car outright gives me so much satisfaction and now I can put the monthly car payments I was making towards achieving a new financial goal.” One goal is to put 25K towards retirement in 2021.

While Quinn is planning for a sound financial future and retirement, she is also budgeting for the things that bring her joy…back to travel. “I set a goal to celebrate my 36th birthday on 2/22/22 by treating my close friends to a beautiful beach vacation in the Bahamas and the house has already been paid for!” There will no doubt be some very nice wine on hand for this epic birthday celebration. 

When she is not seeing the world, Quinn is also all about the hustle. In 2019 she started her own consulting firm, Q. E. N. Grant Consulting,  where she provides grant coaching and helps grant seekers with editing their grant applications. “When the pandemic set in, I was struggling just to get through the day with my full-time job, so the idea of doing more work in the evening and on weekends was overwhelming to me. After going through Bernadette’s FLOW program, I found the energy I needed to get my side-hustle up and running. I worked with a strategic consultant to help me create the vision and structure of my company and have had several clients in 2021.”

Like so many of Bernadette’s other clients, Quinn has not only undergone a financial transformation, but a personal one as well. “All things considered, I’m in a better financial situation than I thought I was. I still have financial goals I want to achieve, but I’ve accomplished a lot so far and have given myself a lot more credit for those accomplishments. Sometimes it’s difficult for me to stop and appreciate the small wins in life, but I’m doing a better job of appreciating myself.” Like Bernadette says, “Net worth is not self-worth.” This is a lesson she drills home in all of her classes and it can’t be emphasized enough.
